Land transfer tax
The Northwest Territories levies no land transfer tax. A value-based Land Titles registration fee is charged instead.
Registration fees
$2.00 for each $1,000 of value or part thereof up to $1,000,000, with a minimum of $100, and $2,000 plus $1.50 per $1,000 on anything above a million.

Sales tax on the mortgage insurance premium
Northwest Territories charges no sales tax on the mortgage default insurance premium. Only Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan do.
First-time buyers
- No transfer tax to rebate. There is no land transfer tax in the Northwest Territories and no first-time buyer relief in the fee schedule.
Sales tax on a vehicle
