What this site collects, which is close to nothing, and why the figures you type into a calculator never leave your browser.
What you type stays on your device
Every calculator here runs entirely in your browser. Your income, your savings, your debts and the price of the house you are looking at are computed on your own device and never sent to a server, because there is no server to send them to. This is not a policy choice that could quietly change; it is how the site is built.
Nothing is stored either. Close the tab and the figures are gone. There is no account, no sign-in and no saved history.
What is never put in a link
Some calculators can put part of their state into the address bar so a scenario can be shared: a price, a rate, an amortization. Figures about you personally are deliberately excluded from that. Your income, your take-home pay, your savings and your outstanding balances can be read from a link somebody sends you, but they are never written into one.
The reason is that a URL is not private. It sits in your browser history, it is logged by every proxy it passes through, and it leaks in a referrer header to the next site you visit. A link that carried your salary would carry it to all of those. This is enforced by an automated test rather than only by intention.
Analytics
Page views are measured with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not fingerprint or track anyone across sites. It records which pages are visited and how quickly they load.
Product events, such as a calculator being completed, are recorded without any amount attached. Where a figure would be useful to know in aggregate it is turned into a wide band first, and the band is what is recorded. A guard in the code drops any value that looks like a raw amount before it can be sent, and that guard is tested.
Advertising
This site is intended to carry advertising through Google AdSense. Advertising is currently disabled: no advertising script loads at all unless a publisher identifier is configured, and none is. When it is enabled, Google may set cookies and use them to select advertisements, and the applicable consent notices will be shown where they are required.
Advertising will never receive anything you type into a calculator, because nothing you type leaves the page.
The sister sites
This site, Salary After Tax and Live In are separate sites that share a design and a set of standards. They do not share accounts, do not share data, and do not track you between one another. A link from one to another is an ordinary link.
A link may carry a figure you chose to pass along, such as an affordable price. That is visible in the address bar before you follow it, and the sensitive fields are excluded as described above.
