Land transfer tax
Nunavut levies no land transfer tax. A value-based Land Titles registration fee is charged instead.
Registration fees
$1.50 for each $1,000 of value up to $1,000,000, with a minimum of $60, and $1.00 per $1,000 above that.

Sales tax on the mortgage insurance premium
Nunavut charges no sales tax on the mortgage default insurance premium. Only Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan do.
First-time buyers
- No transfer tax to rebate. There is no land transfer tax in Nunavut and no first-time buyer relief in the fee schedule.
Sales tax on a vehicle
GST only, with no territorial sales tax. A trade-in comes off the price before tax is charged. See the car payment calculator.
